3. Biking
Revelstoke is a hidden gem in the bicycle community best known for its high alpine trails and breathtaking views of the Columbia Valley. Be sure to take a ride on Frisby Ridge, a flowy single track that winds through old growth forest and alpine meadows. Martha Creek, another local favourite, offers 5,138 feet of descent and finishes on the shores of the Columbia River. Post bike swim anyone?

4. ClimbingThe Birthplace of Canadian mountaineering; the Selkirk Mountains have a ton of alpine climbing to offer during the summer season. The Northwest Ridge of Sir Donald is definitely the poster child of the area. We have plenty of options for cragging around town before the alpine season is on. Ranging from easy, to epic sport climbs, there is something for everyone. From the 15m high walls of shaketown, to the 15 pitch cliffs of the Columbia buttress. 5. PaddlingCanoeing, Kayaking, SUPing, flat or white water, Revelstoke has a little bit of everything to offer the paddling enthusiast. Many of our local white water creeks run year round from either glacial runoff or heavy rains. The Columbia River offers huge open spaces to paddle and explore, whether you are fishing, camping or just out for some exercise. Whether you are looking to take a day off skiing, catch up with friends, or grab breakfast, Revelstoke has no shortage of amazing coffee shops to choose from. The Modern Bakeshop located on Mackenzie Ave is known for its laid back atmosphere and delicious lattes. La Baguette, another local favourite, offers breakfast and lunch items, as well as, homemade pasta’s and gelato. Be sure to grab some Stoke Roasted Coffee to take a taste of Revelstoke home with you. 8. Hiking & Trail RunningAll day epics seems to be the norm for Revelstoke hikes! Most of our classic hikes, start at valley bottom and rise over 1000m to the treeline and alpine. If you’ve got the time definitely use it to get up high. If you are looking for a quick fix; a stroll through the world’s only temperate inland rainforest makes for a great afternoon. 9. CampingWith two national parks within an hour’s drive, it’s no surprise that Revelstoke has some prime camping. The best part is we have so many other areas outside of the parks that offer different experiences. Big beaches along the Columbia River, hidden coves on Lake Revelstoke, and wooded sites up the numerous logging roads around town.
