The Epic Series are all “Hand Shaped” using Kahuna's Epoxy Sandwich Vacuum Construction (ESVC). These boards are built with various top layers and are available in Fibreglass or Bamboo in the Sandwich. They start with an EPS foam blank and shape it with a unique negative nose rocker design. This progressive shape helps cut through wind chop and gives the paddler a huge advantage in directional stability. The board lay-up consists of three layers on the top, with an extra fourth layer in the standing zone that wraps over the rail for added protection and strength, then only two layers on the bottom to keep the board as light as possible.
