SUP Camping Trip on the Slocan River
I always bring my cameras and other pieces of tech with me to document the adventure. This has been a difficult thing for me in the past knowing that I am going out on a stand up paddle board on a river with rapids. I have the the real chance of capsizing and getting everything wet, which can be disastrous for my camera gear. So when I spotted the new Yeti LoadOut GoBox 30 I thought this could be a great solution for the items I can’t get wet.
Much like the Yeti coolers the Yeti LoadOut GoBox has the ability to strap the box to the deck of my board and still be able to open it. This box is dust and water proof with some nice latches that are easy to operate that allows me to use my camera on the go which is great. No diving into a dry bag trying to make sure I don’t drop anything in the water.
The GoBox also comes with some very useful organization to divide up the space inside. A padded pocket big enough for a laptop and a couple smaller zippered pockets for smaller items, as well as a removable tray and divider that let you customize the space to suit your needs.
I had two camera bodies, action cameras, drone, spare batteries for them all and still had space to spare. On top of being waterproof the box is very durable, a big plus when you don’t want any of the contents getting crushed.
If I had to find one think I don’t like it would be the carrying strap as it’s not long enough to be a shoulder strap and with the box full of gear it’s a little awkward to carry. But this is easy to overcome with the great built in handles.
All in all this LoadOut GoBox 30 was a great addition to my adventure and I am sure it will continue to be on the next one, land or sea.
