For the past few weeks, I’ve been testing out the NEMO Equipment new Double Haul 55L Convertible Duffel Bag. Whenever I buy gear, I’m always looking for products that I can use for multiple activities which is what drew me to the NEMO Double Haul. This bag can be either a tote, duffel bag or backpack, making it extremely versatile for a wide range of adventures.
3 in 1 Design
The 3 in 1 design of the bag is an awesome feature. Personally, I've been loving the tote setup for the winter. The bag stays open to make for easy loading & the tote handles clip together for a more secure carry. Once the snow melts and I switch to summer adventures I’m sure I’ll be using it as a backpack more often for climbing trips. I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable it is in the backpack configuration. As someone who travels a lot, having the ability to use it as a duffel when in transit then switching to backpack when on foot is a great feature.
Durable Construction
I’ve used lots of backpacks and duffel bags over the years & one thing I always look for is a durable construction. I go to some pretty rugged places & I need a bag that is durable enough to last in these conditions. I’m pleased to say the NEMO Double Haul excels in this area, the Bluesign® approved 420D recycled nylon shell feels very durable and is also water-repellent.
Perfect for ANY Adventure
I can think of a whole range of uses for this bag, but as it’s spring I’ve mainly been using it for going to and from the ski hill, winter hiking and climbing. The 55L capacity is large enough for me to easily fit my ski boots, helmet, extra layers & my backpack making it much easier to load & unload the car. I haven’t had a chance to fly with this bag yet, but I already know it’s going to be my go-to travel bag. Its carry-on size & having the ability to carry it as a backpack will make travelling much easier.
Extremely Versatile
In summary, I’ve been greatly impressed with this duffel bag. I love the fact it packs down into a very small stuff sack making for easy storage & the versatility it provides with the different carry options makes it a great choice for a wide range of activities. The 2 small pockets are great for storing smaller loose items & the backpack straps are well secured out of the way when not in use. You can tell lots of thought has gone into the design of this product and I think NEMO has done a great job with the overall design & construction of the bag. If you are in the market for a versatile duffle bag, the NEMO Double Haul is a great choice.
