I recently took the NEW Sea to Summit Frontier UL Collapsible One Pot Cook Set for a test run during an urban picnic of tea and instant noodles by the Ottawa River.
My first impression: All together these pieces were lightweight – 5 pieces including a Pouring Pot, 2x Cups & 2x Medium Bowls totaled just 527g. Perfect for those looking to minimize their pack weight without sacrificing functionality. I love the feature of collapsibility and how everything nestles together. This is a great feature as I often find the shape of my mugs and bowls to be annoying when packing bags for a hiking or canoe trip.
Performance: Setting up and expanding the cook set is easy. I used a Jetboil stove to boil 1L of water and was surprised at how sturdy the pot was on my portable stove. I was weary of the silicone over heat, especially since the label on the bottom of the pot advises to use “low to medium heat”, but it withstood the temperatures of the Jetboil and also held up well in the chilly outdoor conditions with no signs of cracking. The pouring spout also made serving a breeze.
One thing that impressed me was the cups and bowls, also made from the same food-grade silicone material. Despite initial reservations about they’re sturdiness and handling boiling water in them, I found them to be surprisingly robust and heat-resistant.

- Convenient Features: The pouring spout on the pot is a nice touch and the Click Safe handle allows for safe attachment and can be reversed to hold the lid in place for storage of the collapsed items.
